Description

The Hamilton Khaki Navy GMT is a robust, multi-functional tool watch designed for global travelers and water sports enthusiasts. Its unique three-crown architecture gives it a distinct 'Super Compressor' vibe, while the inclusion of a city-name window at 6 o'clock simplifies the tracking of international time zones. It successfully bridges the gap between a professional diver and a functional pilot's watch.

Black sunburst dial with white Arabic numerals. Hands are luminous syringe-style baton hands.

Circa 2005-2015. This specific model was a staple of the Khaki Navy line for over a decade before being superseded by the Scuba and Frogman models.

Cultural Significance

Hamilton was the primary supplier to the US military for decades; this modern line reflects that heritage while adapting to the needs of the modern traveler. It is widely considered one of the best value-for-money GMT watches in the secondary market.

Condition Notes

Good condition. There are visible surface scratches on the external steel bezel (notably between 20 and 30). The rubber strap shows slight signs of wear but remains intact. The sapphire crystal appears clear and free of major chips.

Value Estimate

MSRP was approximately $945. Secondary market value currently ranges from $450 to $650 depending on condition and whether the original box and papers are included.

Care & Maintenance

Mechanical service recommended every 5-7 years. Ensure all three crowns are fully screwed down before any water exposure. Gaskets should be pressure-tested annually for water resistance integrity.

Interesting Facts

The city names on the internal disk are not standard UTC offsets but often represent iconic diving or island locations, such as Lanai or Midway, highlighting its 'Navy' maritime theme over a standard 'GMT-Master' aviation theme.
