Description
An avant-garde masterpiece of industrial design, the Megapode is a 'pebble' on the wrist. Designed by the legendary Marc Newson, it eschews traditional watch lugs for a seamless, ergonomic shape. It bridges the gap between high art and functional tool watch, utilizing a complex GMT movement within a sculptural stainless steel shell.

Origin & Provenance
Swiss Made. Components manufactured in Switzerland; design by Australian industrial designer Marc Newson.
Age Estimate
Circa 1999-2003 (The 'Golden Era' of the original Ikepod brand).
Cultural Significance
A cult classic among architects and designers. It represents a paradigm shift in the 1990s away from traditional case shapes toward 'biomorphism'.
Condition Notes
Very Good. The brushed finish on these large cases often shows micro-scratches from wear. The rubber strap should be checked for brittleness or cracking given its age.
Value Estimate
$2,500 - $4,500 depending on box/papers and specific movement certification.
Care & Maintenance
Service every 5-7 years for the movement. Be extremely careful when replacing straps, as they are proprietary and can be difficult/expensive to source for vintage models.
