By pairing the elegant Jubilee bracelet with a smooth bezel and a monochromatic slate dial, this configuration strikes a perfect balance between a sport watch and a dress watch. This model replaced the Datejust II, offering more refined, slimmer lugs and a more balanced dial layout.

Key Features

126XXX series case and movement, 'Swiss Made' with coronet at 6, slate sunray dial, Jubilee bracelet, and the smooth bezel configuration.

Dial Description

Slate (dark grey) Sunray dial. Features applied 18ct white gold baton markers filled with Chromalight lume. Date window at 3 o'clock with white background and black numerals. Outer minute track with Arabic numerals at 5-minute intervals.

Oystersteel (904L stainless steel). High-polish finish on the case sides and bezel, with brushed/satin finishing on the lug tops.

Crystal Type

Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a Cyclops magnifying lens over the date (2.5x magnification). Flat profile with anti-reflective coating on the underside of the Cyclops.

Bezel Details

Age Estimate

Circa 2017-2024. The presence of the Rolex 'Coronet' between 'Swiss' and 'Made' at 6 o'clock suggests a later production date within the 126300 lifecycle (post-2018).

Cultural Significance

The Datejust is one of the most recognized watch designs in history. It represents professional success and has been worn by countless world leaders and cultural icons since its debut.

Condition Notes

Very Good/Excellent. Micro-scratches visible on the polished bezel and case sides common with light wear. The crystal appears clear. Bracelet shows minimal stretch.

Value Estimate

Retail (MSRP) approx. $8,050. Secondary market value typically ranges from $8,500 to $10,500 depending on box/papers and condition.

Care & Maintenance

Recommended service interval of 10 years. Ensure crown is fully screwed down before water exposure. Rinse with fresh water after salt water contact. Do not adjust the date between 10 PM and 2 AM (though the Cal. 3235 is designed to handle it).

Interesting Facts

The Datejust was the first self-winding chronometer wristwatch to display the date in a window on the dial (1945). The slate dial is often confused with the 'Wimbledon' dial, but this baton-index version is prized for its cleaner, more symmetrical luminescent display.
